Why are these tools important? In the past few years, the web has changed the pace, and more importantly, the way people communicate. Upwards of 70,000 new people joint the online global economy daily, and in 2007, the social media site, Facebook reported their number of "digital citizens" was larger than the combined populations of Japan and Russia.

Clearly, such a shift is radically changing the ways in which companies can commnuicate with their employees and with consumers. This shift not only gives new tools for training and OD programs, it promotes new types of progams.
